Proving Grounds

Post by zashonfire on Sat Jan 28, 2017 1:27 am

"Why do I let you do these things to me." Zash whined as his recently declared girlfriend zipped around him sat in a barber chair and more and more of his precious black hair start to fall in waves to the floor. He and Fox had been getting along perfectly naturally as they always had and Zash was more than thankful for it. He had been a little worried things would be different between them now that they were dating but that had not particularly been the case. Instead, Zash would more accurately describe it as them being a lot like they were before but with a lot more kissing and the occasional more than just platonic sleep over.

" You are breaking so many heart right now Foxy. You know my sexiness is all in my hair." He continued to complain as she came around to the front of him and snipped at his "devil curls" bangs that he treasured so much. His wild and controlled chaos of hair was quickly and easily being tamed by Fox with her scissors. Zash bent is legs at the knees so that his legs would dangle, he felt a strange childish calm and pleasure as she was cleaning him up. He wouldn't admit it to her but he quite liked this.

He reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out a piece of chocolate and bit off half before extending his hand and wordlessly offering her the other half. He had gotten use to that in the past month, sharing a lot of things with her.

Fox was more than entranced in her work, slowly snipping each tiny length of gently dampened hair off of his head. She didn't want to screw this up, it was her goal to make sure that he liked the style as much as she did. She was very gentle and meticulous, running her hands through his hair over and over to make sure the hair fell the right way and also sweeping out any excess hairs that tried to cling in his infamous mane. She'd also occasionally sweep her hands over his torso, his broad shoulders, and his neck in an attempt to relieve him as best she could of the annoying hairs that would inevitably invade his wardrobe.

"Well I'd hope it's because you like me enough to put some trust in me," she replied smoothly and half-mindedly due to being so engrossed in her work. She used one blade of the scissors to razor off the ends of some of his hair near his neckline, giving it a light, feathery, airy elegance. She of course ran her hand through it lightly, enjoying the privileges of getting to be the first one to touch the soft texture. It was a nice, intimate gesture for both parties. The whole moment was warm and soft and full of underlying affection. Every time her hands grazed and worked him, she felt her heart light up a bit. She could almost sense it having a similar effect on him, or at least she hoped it was. Everything felt more potent and magical when he was feeling it, too.

Fox had put a lot more effort and snipping into the back of his head, so that there was a nice gradient of longer to shorter hair running from the top of his head to his neckline, respectively. She moved around to the front, intending to finish her hard work with a bit of sculpting around his face. She worked with the deft hands of an observant artist, making sure the cut didn't look unintentionally off-kilter or lopsided. Her snips were fine and precise, but gentle. Loving even. "I'm not cutting any of the sexiness out, I'm just giving it a new shape," she retorted, before temporarily pulling back to give him a playful glare and smirk combo, ".....and what hearts are we talking about here? Is there something you'd like to tell me?" She grinned a little wider and poked the tip of his nose softly before going back to work. "....I'm sure your gaggle of oh-so-important fangirls will manage to get over it. Who knows, maybe it'll be a big hit with them." She was careful to take as little from his favorite "devil-curls" as possible, just trying to clean them up a bit. They still floated tastefully above his eyebrows.

She leaned down and stole the chocolate from his fingertips with her mouth, the sensation of her lips grazing his skin most likely something that he noticed more than she did in this moment. After making a few final snips, she took advantage of her convenient alchemy talent and evaporated the water out of his hair, giving it the fluffy feeling of being freshly blow-dryed without actually using the device. She ran her fingers through his hair one last time, taking a little longer than she probably needed to. Her palm grazed tenderly over his forehead.

"There.... I think it's done," she smiled, shifting the scissors around in her hand so that she could hold a mirror up for him. "How is it... do you like it?" she asked with a sheepish smile, incredibly hopeful for his approval.

The intimacy of the moment rubbed off on Zash slowly, warmly like hot chocolate running through his body leaving him with that warm fuzzy feeling that was accustom with Fox. The lightness of her touch, the tender love and care in the way she ran her hands through his hair, across his shoulders and chest. It made him feel larger than he really was, like something to be desired. He was now enraptured with the way she cared and touched him in this moment. He could feel the desire in the brush across his chest, the love in the rub of his shoulders and the consideration in the way she sculpted his hair in a new image. He hadn't thought about how strange an experience it was for him to leave any aspect of himself completely up to anyone else but he knew that because it was Fox he was able to not worry even enjoy it, but he could't let her know that. " Hey man I can't help that they are madly in love with me. I don't reciprocate I just am such an object of desire." He bragged extensively to Fox liking to combat her attempts at sarcasm over his popularity with some dis genuine self praise.

"Dude I love the feathering with one razor so smooth good skill, your like a master beautician." Zash commented fawning over it hoping to get a good natured chuckle out of her. As she had been started to put the finishing touches on his new dew she leaned her head down to his hand eating the chocolate right out of his finger tips. He had the familiar sensation of her lips on his skin which gave him chills as she pulled her lips away so fast it nearly felt like a butter fly kiss.

As his mind was lost in that thought she suddenly super flash heated his hair giving him that warm feeling akin to warm pajamas right out of the drawer. She held up a mirror and Zash was greeted with his new dew. He liked it, overall it was not what he had imagined as he normally wore his hair in an effortless way that was always the " I just got out of bed and I look this good" look but this was certainly different it made him seem like he had more genuine care and mindfulness to his appearance and the way it presented him to the world. It also was indicative of Fox's view that he was a more stand up person than he chose to reveal to everyone. He didn't fully process all this in the moment but the undertones of it were their and he was very impressed and visibly pleased.
"I actually love it girl." Zash replied with a smile

Your finally looking sharp, I approve. The familiar voice popped into Zash's head, he hadn't talked to Poshie in over a month, to suddenly hear his voice surprised him as his expression changed but he quickly threw up his hands apologetically as to not alarm Fox. " Poshie likes it too." he added.

Fox enjoyed the compliments she was getting, indulging in all the attention while admiring Zash from behind the mirror. She couldn't help but feel a little enamored with the way his face was so clean and visible now with the shroud of tussled hair trimmed back into a more sculpted visage. It was a nice change. She set the scissors down on the dresser and transmuted the hair on the floor away.

"Thank you.... I think it looks really good on you....~" She fluffed his hair up a bit, basking in both the praise and him. "I figured he'd like that kind of cut. It adds a lot of class," she giggled as she cleaned up. Once he removed himself from the chair, she transmuted her chair back into its rolling chair form and pushed it back over to her desk. She grabbed the shirt laying there and brought it to him.

"Here's your spare shirt.... pretty sure the bathroom's open if you need it," she mused. She leaned up against the chair and thought to herself quietly for a moment before continuing, "Humm..... once you're done.... is there anything you want to do?" She had a few vague ideas, but she was also just as okay with having a lazy day.

Re: Proving Grounds

After a few moments of studying his new look and making sure he was more than satisfied with it he got himself up and out of the chair to which Fox happily played his hair up before using her alchemy to return the chair to its' original state and roll it back over. Zash started brushing himself off desperately and itching all over not able to shake the feeling of hair all over his body. He gladly accepted the shirt he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and walked by her towards the door for the bathroom as he called back. " You saying my hair wasn't classy before?" He tossed his shirt into the sink in the bathroom but stayed in the door frame talking to her as he took over his shirt and threw it off to the side. He leaned on the door frame undoing his fly he replied to her asking what he wanted to do. " I'm starving I could go for some of Ricky's." He said as he now turned to close the door most of the way leaving it a quarter of the way open so he could still talk to her.

He stripped off his pants and compression shorts throwing them in the sink with his new tea shirt which was a Three Days Grace shirt. He moved to slide open the shower door he realized his ring was still on. He had started to remove his ring more and more often ever since he and Fox had started dating, originally because Fox didn't want Poshie there for their intimate moments which Zash never really viewed as an invasion of privacy but just a bi product of their unique situation. None the less Zash found himself taking it off even before he went to sleep and enjoying the comfort that being alone in his own mind brought. He set Poshie's ring down on the edge of the sink careful not to let it slip into the basin and fall down the drain that would be a nightmare.

He stepped into the shower and turned on the hot water the feeling great as it sprayed down along his body. There were quite a few nicks and cuts, scars and scraps all over Zash's body from a variety of dangerous and otherwise misguided activities ( not to mention a few from dear old dad) . His whole person had a uniqueness in that way.  It wasn't uncommon for him to find scars he didn't even know he had. Speaking of which...

" How the hell did I get a scar on inside of my knee how does that even happen?" He wondered in confusion and even some slight annoyance.

She smiled at his kiss. "Of course not, It was just a different kind of classy," she assured him as she cleaned off her chair. He suggested Ricky's again, and while Fox did take a moment to seriously consider it, she found herself leaning in another direction. "Yeah, we could..... but we just had breakfast there. And dinner last night. And breakfast yesterday. And the day before that......," she chuckled, "....I dunno, maybe we could go to the next town over? It gets kinda stuffy staying in the same place every day." It had been a while since their last out of town excursion, and she was starting to feel a bit cramped up in the usual setting.

She heard the shower start up and reasoned that he must have decided to rid himself of the hair that had gotten under his shirt. She paused for a moment, giving the situation some thought. Pranks. This was the optimal time for pranks. An evil grin spread across her face and she crept into the hallway as silently as a mouse in outer space, lying in wait for him to get into the shower.

Once his feet hit the floor of the shower and she heard the curtain close, she sprung into action. She snatched all his clothes, both the dirty and the clean, his jacket, and all the towels. Even the hand towels and the wash cloths. She suppressed gales of laughter as she snuck them all into her room as silently as she came, hiding them in an empty trunk in the corner of her closet. She shut the trunk ever so quietly, and then shut the closet door so that it appeared as it had before.

"A scar on the inside of your knee? Really? That's the weirdest place to have a scar ever," she responded, still repressing laughter. "It takes a special kind of special to get a scar in a place that strange and inconvenient."

It was a quick rinse just to get all the itchy feeling from his body, he shook his head the water from his head going everywhere as he quickly turned off the water and reached out his hand from the curtain to reach for a towel he had left on the small towel rack next to the shower.
"What is that-" He stopped as he continued to flail his hand around to try aimlessly to find the towel but failed. He figured it must have fallen off somehow and started to open the curtains " suppose to mean." He started to taper off as he looked around first seeing the stunning lack of towels and making an annoyed face.

Why the hell does she not hav.... Zash stopped for a moment and realized another stunning revelation, his cloths were gone. He saw Poshie exactly where he had left him and slipped it on.

Did she?
Yes
When I was?
Yep
Why?
I don't know.

"Welp." Zash said aloud to himself as he crept his way to the door of the bathroom he creaked it open and peek his way back and forth down the hallway. Zash was pretty confident that her parents weren't home but he wasn't 100% certain all her siblings weren't. He slipped back into the bathroom and decided to flash dry himself so he didn't just walk around dripping wet. The fire crept around his body in a serpentine form weaving all along his body until all the excess moisture and filling the room with a steam which he could at least hope was some what of a smoke screen.... It most certainly was not.

He crept his way carefully to Fox's room and when he got to the door he opened it jumped right in and slammed it shut behind him.

" Girl what the hell?" He said as he turned back to face her arms crossed in a scolding manner forgetting for a moment that he was still completely naked. " I don't exactly want your siblings or your parents to be getting a show."

Fox cackled until she was blue in the face, falling off her chair and rolling on the floor in absolute hysterics. The flustered look on his face was so genuine and such a rarity that it was perfect. And he was scolding her.... scolding her........ completely. Naked!!! She curled into the fetal position and cried from her laughter.

"Aaaah............. aaaaaaaaah! Fu-uck, it hurts!! It hurts!!!" She needed a few minutes to gain control of herself again, breathing heavily and groaning through her laughter. "Uhhhhnn..... hah, ooooooooooowwww...." There were visible wet spots on her sleeves from her tears. "Hoo, oh man.... you know they're not home," she giggled. She had to use the edge of her bed to haul herself up, and then she had to stay hunched over because of her aching midsection.

"Hooooo.... don't worry, I don't want to give them a show either," she sighed, still giggling. "I prefer private shows... they view's too good to share." She turned her head to the side to smile and wink at him. "Also.... I'm not as good at beating people off of you as you are at beating people off of me," she admitted meekly and sheepishly.

Zash was shaking his head in bemused entertainment as Fox rolled and busted her gut. He slipped off his ring and tossed it off to the side into a pile of clothes, in expectations for what he had planned for revenge pranks. Well not exactly a particularly elaborate prank but regardless still revenge was needed. He decided to start off playful with her as she mentioned how he liked to take care of competition for her. He had a hand behind his head running through his hair, he had that momentary surprised of Where did my hair go?! before realized he had literally just gotten a hair cut.

"That's quite a coincidence cause I love private shows too." He said in stride as his hand blazed alight conjuring up the typical fireball which he lobbed at Fox. Even after leaving is person Zash demonstrated incredible control over his flame. His fingers moving in a quick agitated manner as his fire ball split open and fanned out around her person spindling onto her cloths and igniting them. It was a quick and explosive burn, and Zash culled it nicely keeping from ever burning her skin or hair. It was delicate control to do something with this level of precision as he reduced her sweat pants to ash and made quick work of her shirt revealing her blue skimpies. He let out a high pitched whistle. " See this is the kinda show I want." He teased, he looked it up and down now letting the fire hang around her body in lazy loops the light from the fire highlighting her curves and features almost blending in with her fiery hair. She looked like a creature from another mystic world like this to him or a goddess of sorts. As he idolized her in this moment he felt his desire reach a fever pitch and the flames slowly collected at her hips and at her breasts neatly and concisely turning her bra and panties to ash. He dropped his hand and the flame dissipated, a small bead of sweat rolled down the side of his head, he normally wouldn't have taken that much care and effort but the small intricate mannerisms of the flame like the rate he burned up the cloths the care to not allow even a spark to strike her skin all the while trying to pull the temperate in to not be an inferno all to keep the entire experience not only pleasant but provocative.

He openly observed her whole person now scanning her up and down with a mischievous smile the way she had been looking at him in amusement he looked at her with a mixture of pure admiration and passion. He didn't need to hide any of it he hoped Fox enjoyed the way he drank her all in. The way every time she exposed herself in front of him he looked at her like like she left him in awe in a whole other way.

"UUAAA!!" Fox yelped in surprise as a fireball was lobbed at her. She raised her arms to protect her face and stumbled backwards as it quickly spread out and clung to her clothes. This... was new. The initial shock melted into..... something else, and heat pooled in her face as she was wrapped up in his fire. Her eyes darting between the sight of him and the spectacle of her clothes disintegrating. It was that great mix of playful and something more that was so strong and prevalent between them. She smirked, drinking it in. His whistle only accented the lewdness of a moment in which a naked man was burning off her clothes.

"But that's not all to the show, is it?" she teased, accenting her words with a little shake of her hips. Her arms reached up and folded over her head, overlapping at the elbow as she played along with the fire still hovering around her. With her heart fluttering in her throat like this, she quickly arrived upon the realization that she wanted him to continue. She liked this unorthodox attention; she found it fun in a plethora of ways. "C'mon, you only made it to the first act..." she cooed, coaxing him to go farther.

She could see something in his eyes snap free, his gaze growing half-lidded with some emotion as the fire moved to finish what had been started. After it dispersed, the two just stood in each other's gazes for a while, drinking in that tension building just under the surface. She smiled. His gaze held everything she wanted to see in it, and she hoped hers she returned just as much. She was so comfortable she didn't even feel the need to move and cover herself.

She smirked. He was going to have to pay at least a little bit for her clothes, regardless of how excited she was. She hummed, breaking the silence. "Well.... That was a good show. Guess that's it, time to pack up and get decent," she shrugged. He made an undignified noise and she giggled, turning with another subtle flick of her hips and heading over to her dresser. He caught it, for sure, because she sprung himself over the bed and stood in front of her dresser.

"Now hold on, let's talk about this...." he reasoned with a coy smile. She smirked.

"Maybe, if you can catch me!" she chortled back, turning on her heel and making a dash for her door. He snorted and immediately sprang after her, relying on his nigh inhuman reflexes. As she was upon the door he grabbed her, yanking her back and making the door handle slip out of her hand. They both laughed s she struggled, beating his chest playfully with her hands until he picked her up and found his way back to her bed in the center of the room.

"I don't think you really want to end this show there;" he smirked into her neck. He could feel her pulse pounding and a sigh that was trapped in her throat being released.

"....hmm...." she hummed with a tinge of weakness, "....Maybe, if you can keep me 'invested' enough to get to the end?"

"Oh, I can keep you plenty invested, Princess," he chortled.

-----

It was certainly not the morning anymore, in fact it was several hours past noon. Fox and Zash were still comfortably nestled in her bed, with Fox walking the thin line between consciousness and unconsciousness. She smiled and sighed happily, squeezing him a little. "That was fun... I hope you had fun too," she whispered. There was only one thing that could have broken her out of the cozy haze she was indulging in, and that was the sound of her stomach being painfully empty. She flinched.

"Alright...... fuck Ashtin," Fox groaned, a smile still ghosting her lips, "I'm too hungry now to wait that whole trip for food and Ricky's is starting to sound really good." She lingered for a few more precious lazy moments before she began to untangle herself from Zash and the sheets, rolling towards the side of the bed nearest to her dresser.

".....mmph, oh. And your clothes are in the trunk in my closet... the oak one," she added as her feet hit the floor and she stood. She used one hand to open the drawer and fish around inside while she ran the other through her disheveled locks. The effort to tame them was futile, only succeeding in getting her hand caught and forcing a few curses out under her breath. Once it was untangled, she started to reclaim some decency in the form of underwear and clothes.

Her reflection in a mirror on the adjacent wall caught her attention. She stopped for a moment, a bit captivated by what was left over. Her hand flew up to her neck, covering a few dark patches of skin.

"C'mooooooooooooooooooooon, Zash..... Why do you always make so much work for me," she groaned playfully.

The hot and wild passion of their love flew by Zash in a blur of bodies and moans. Culminated after a while with them relaxing in that spirtual post love making time that Zash enjoyed almost as much as the actual love making. Almost that was. He rubbed sleep from his eyes and yawned as she whispered pleasantly into his ear her voice so melodious Zash could almost slip back into sleep listening to her. If he had not been so damn hungry himself, realizing it only as the mention of Ricky's came up again. He yawned and pawed at her side and but as she got herself away from him. "I always have fun with you Foxy, but for sure girl I'm starved too. You take a lot out of me you know." He commented on how their little intamcy had started.

He was slow to get out of bed even after she told him where his clothes were. He was still completely nude as she slipped on her underwear and even a shirt, she noticed her hickeys in the mirror and Zash couldn't hold back laughter as he came up behind her looking at the mirror to see them on her skin. They were not going to be hidden easily on her complexion. He hugged her from behind and kissed where her hand now covered her dark spots. "I could make more work for you if you move those fingers." He insisted as he sucked in the skin of her of her digits like he had done to give her spots like that in the fist place.

He fled from any physicsl objection of such an act by making his move to the closet and throwing open the oak chest finding his clothes and slipping on the boxers and jeans to cover his manhood before going back into the open of her room. He swiped Poshie from the cloths pile he had thrown him into started on his shirt. "Meet you down stairs? I'll pull the truck up to your driveway." He said as he looked back at her leaning on the windowsill where he would make his exit. He looked back at her with that goofy half smile, a mixture of satifaction and genuine happiness as he saw her in all her messy haired half dressed glory and could truthfully say all he say was the most beautiful thing he had ever feast his eyes upon.

She smiled, quietly pleased with his little quip. He suddenly appeared behind her, her heart filling with butterflies again while he held her close. He was very, very warm. She could feel it in his lips when he touched them to her hand, could feel it in his breath when he whispered suggestive things to her. She gasped just a tad, and actually began to lift her hand up before she noticed him walk away. She quickly realized his absence when she turned around to see him and he wasn't there. After a moment of confusion, she smiled in a way that made her nose crinkle as she felt silly for not noticing sooner. "You're awful," she laughed as he walked away to get his clothes.

"Oh, we don't have to drive, I mean we could wal-" but he was already gone. She rolled her eyes and shook her head, it wasn't like Ricky's was that far away... but for some reason, he really liked driving that truck. That was fine, she didn't mind riding around. She had always felt oddly relaxed while in motion, except for that fucking trip to the mythical city. That had NOT been an enjoyable ride; she still had nightmares.

She busied herself with covering the fallout, having to use more of her green-tinted foundation than she had originally been anticipating. With some effort and determination she FINALLY got those marks covered to a point where her neck looked decently normal. She went to the drawer and pulled on a light blue pair of distressed jeans before grabbing a brush and running it through her hair. She slipped on a pair of boots and hopped out the window behind Zash, gently shutting it behind her.

"Alright, let's get some food before my entire midsection collapses in on itself," she joked. She pulled the seat belt down over herself, full well knowing she probably wouldn't need it for the distance she was travelling but doing it anyways.

He jumped from the window easily and landed lightly on the ground and made the short walk next door to his own place. He crept in carefully as to not wake his father whom he could only guess was either drunk off his ass or still passed out from being drunk off his ass before. The sneaky operation was a success as he made it to the kitchen counter and swiped the keys slipping them into his jacket pocket. As he made his way to the door he saw laying on the side of the little entry way his katana. He hesitated for a moment, he hadn't been carrying around his sword too often now a days with things being more quite and him settling down with Fox. He grabbed it now wanting to feel it's familiar weight at his hip as he got it holstered to his side.

He quietly closed the door behind him and flung himself into the driver seat of the beat up pick up truck and pulled it over to Fox's drive way. He waited patiently as Zash could only assume she fixed her hair and maybe hide some of the marks he had left on her. He twiddled with the radio knobs until he found something decent. he eventually settled on S&M as Fox bounded on up.

" Yeah honestly." He agreed as he rolled out of the drive and down the street singing the song in his incredibly high pitched falsetto and in just a few moments they found their way to the parking lot of Ricky's he cut the engine and then made his way to the passenger side and opened Fox's door for her. " Welcome to the ball Princess." He said making a grand gesture.

Fox laughed until her sides hurt as Zash screeched in his falsetto. It was... It was a sight to behold, and she couldn't stop herself from joining in on a few beats when she wasn't dying from her laughter. She didn't catch her breath until the truck finally came to a stop and Zash cut the engine, causing the radio to shut off.

"Haah.... Hooh.." she panted as she unbuckled her seatbelt and rubbed her jaw muscles. She hopped out of the cab, curtsying as her feet hit the ground. "Oh, thank you my fine gentleman," she stated in a comically overstated tone. She waited for him to lock up, and then they headed into the resteraunt together.

The pair walked into the familiar white and red checkerboard diner holding hands , the sign of the place hanging above and behind the counter had the actual name of the place but the diner was forever immortalized in not only Zash and Fox's mind but also the communities as Ricky's. As the bell rang the a very excitable and energetic Growlithe scampered up to Fox and affectionately began wagging it's tail and nuzzling at her legs. Seeming to entirely forget that it was currently giving a ride to a little boy who's family was eating at the diner.

Zash laughed and smiled as the little fire pup nuzzled up to her. He let go of Fox's hand so she could pet and hopefully get him to take the little boy back to his parents. He slid into his normal seat at the counter. He glanced over the counter and saw the trusty Arcanine using a low power flame thrower to keep the skittle to a nice temperature and add that unique Ricky's flavor. " Hey Charcoal can you go get the old man for me?" He asked the Arcanine pleasantly as the grumpy fire dog started off for Ricky. In a few moments a man in his late forties came out to behind the counter. Ricky was a well built tall man, at about 6 foot with a beard he dyed black to seem younger and a bald head he had shaved so he wouldn't notice when the early onset male patterned baldness of his family set in. He wore an apron over a gray over shirt with the diner's logo on it and dad jeans. He held a tiny spatula in one hand and a large fork with two points.

" How many times do I have to tell you not to bring that in here!" He scolded Zash as he placed down his tools grabbed a coffee pot and filled up some other patrons at the counter.

" Aw Rick come on man you know I can't help it." Zash replied defending his habit of dragging his sword around with him where ever he went. " You know it's just habit." He added.

As Ricky finished filling up coffee pots he turned to look at Zash now completely and his eyes grew wide. " Oh my Arceus, you got a hair cut. It actually looks pretty good on you Pretty Boy. Let me guess the Little Lady did it to ya?" He asked referring to Zash and Fox respectively.

Fox was already expecting what was coming when they walked into second home, and she was excited to see the familiar little puppy Sparky bounding up to her, same as every time she came to this. The thing she was not expecting was that the small child who had been petting Sparky would continue to cling to the puppy as he dashed up to her, causing the child to be drug along for a little impromptu ride across the diner floor, right up to Fox's feet. Sparky jumped at her legs playfully.

"Sparkers!!- ahhh, oh- Oh no, pfft, jeez...." She couldn't help but chuckle, despite herself. She leaned down after Zash's hand left hers and gave the puppy a few pats before putting her hand on his head and calming him down with a little "Shh-shh." She then went to help the little boy back up, who just kind of stared at her with a dumbfounded expression on her face. She looked back at the boy, and suddenly was filled with warm nostalgia as he reminded her of the times when she was younger. "Are you okay?" she asked, smiling. Sparky wriggled around uncomfortably, clearly ready to pounce on her the second he had the chance.

The kid nodded, clearly a bit unnerved. Fox smiled at his shyness.

"Sorry, that must have been scary; would it help i I walked you back to your parents?" she chuckled.

The kid nodded. He also took the hand that Fox offered him.

Sparky started to move, but he was quelled with a quick "Staaay" from Fox. He looked like he was pouting.

After a light and pleasent chat with the kid's parents, she turned back to Sparky. He looked to her with a pleading gaze, and she smirked.

"aaand.... Okay! Good job Sparkers!" Fox exclaimed, clapping her hands and motioning him over. He bounded over to her in the blink of an eye, wagging his tail and barking happily. She gave him plenty of attention, mixed in with a plethora of feel-good words like, "Aww, good boy; so cute, so patient!! What a good boy Sparkers!!..." and so on.

She eventually re-convened with the other two at the counter, Sparky still hot on her heels.

"Howdy," she chuckled, using the mention of her nickname to jump into the conversation, "Yeah, I finally got to trim the hedge! thought he might like to try tomething different." She fluffed his hair just a bit, as well as making a mental note to start reminding him about the sword again. "Hey, so how are things around here? Still doing okay on the range? Coils still convecting?" she asked, regarding a tune-up she had taken care of for him during one of her last visits.

" Everythings just perfect like always after you fix it up. Wonderful job on the hair though Pretty Boy needs a woman's touch in his life." Ricky said to Fox as he watched how she openly and affectionately played with Zash's hair. He had watched her with Sparky, who had always loved Fox, she was certainly something special and he had wondered how long it would be before Zash had finally figured it out. He gave Fox a tad of a smile as he motioned to the oblivious Zash who was attempting to thank Charcoal who had padded out from behind the counter to bark at Sparky to get back to work helping him flamethrower some of the meals.

" So how long you and the Pretty Boy been together? When did he ask you out?" He asked as he started to get some batter ready for Fox's pancaked he knew she would want and two patties for Zash.

" Come on Char you don't need to yell at him." Zash laughed as the two fire dogs communicated back and forth in yips and barks. He had turned away from  both Fox and Ricky to talk to them and wasn't paying attention to them in particular but with a awareness of Fox's touch to his head that he felt pleasantly in her regular motion of affection. He did not have a great interest in Pokemon but he had a special investment in these two. He knew the Arcanine for as long as he could ever remember and Zash had been there for the little one's birth which always created a significant weight to their relationship. Sparky scampered over to Zash's feet and bounded around his stool playfully nipping at Zash's shoes and pant legs.

" Oh somebody is feisty today!" Zash commented back as he showed his open palm to the pokemon and fire blossomed out to start chasing Sparky as he ran and rolled to avoid being touched by the fire. Zash loved to tease Sparky this way, since he knew he could always win, he started spawning fire between tables and booths cutting off his escape routes before a singular spindle of fire came out from the little road block and poked the pup on the nose.

" Mommy Daddy fire!!"

"Sh-`" Zash bushed and quickly extinguished his flames as the parents suddenly turned and looked to find the flames but Sparky covered nicely by puffing up a few embers looking absentmindedly off into space. The parents turned back and scolded the child lightly for being so silly and Zash sat up far more erect trying to avoid detection by either Ricky or Fox.

Fox was smiling and nodding cheerily right up until the moment when Ricky implied that she and Zash were together, at which point her face slowly morphed and adopted a more shocked expression. He knew. She should have expected it, but he knew. Just from looking at them?? It had to be, because they hadn't told anybody, and any intimacy beyond the norm played out behind closed doors........ o h s h i t. Fox's hand flew up to her neck, shifting her collar around nervously. Had.... had she missed any? She couldn't see what he was seeing, so she sat uncomfortably under his gaze for a moment while she formulated a response.

"Err, uh...... a month," she admitted after a moment, "Well, it started after prom... well, at after-after prom. We didn't really go to prom together, it just kind of..... came out afterwords....." It was a bit difficult to explain given the nature of how they had gotten into this current stage of their relationship and also the fact that it hadn't been as much of an "ask out" scenario as much it had been a "well.... this is a thing." She mulled over it pensively. "I think there was enough there already that it wasn't too too different from how we normally do things."

She glanced over at Zash for a moment, trying to clear her head and reassure herself that yeah, this was totally normal. Right? Ricky was the first person she actually told up front about what was happening, so she had no idea how to handle it...... As she peered over at Zash, she noticed him get caught using his fire by the little boy. She chuckled lightly; it was just enough of a familiar situation to put her just a tad more at ease. "....Maybe we should be a little less flashy about rough housing with Sparkers, huh?" she smirked after he had extinguished the flame and just narrowly avoided getting caught by the parents of the small child.

The fry cook continued going on finishing up some pancakes for Fox as she struggled to explain the complexity of their relationship. He glanced occasionally over is shoulder and nodded, sending the signal that he understood. When she had finally reached the end of her rope of explaining it all he set up a short stack for her on a large plate and set it down on the bar in front of her along with a mini pitcher of the butter pecan syrup she liked along with some eggs. He grabbed a towel slung it over his shoulder leaning against the counter to talk to her candidly seeing that this seemed a little bit of new territory for her. " Let me just tell you right now that how you start a relationship isn't all that important what is if you can make it through the long run and trust me Little Lady you two have already been through thick and thin I'm sure you'll be great." He turned back to the grill and started finishing up Zash's meal.

Sparky bounded over to Zash and slid in behind his feet and stool to avoid detection from Charcoal. "Looks like they found me out Sparky not too late for you though." He whispered down to him as Fox jokingly scolded him. He turned back to her and said with his voice dripping with sarcasm. " I don't know what your talking about... OH hey you better eat those pancakes before I do!" He taunted grabbing a fork and faking to go for the pancakes before being batted away.

"Arceus you are bottomless Kid." Ricky scolded as he slapped together Zash's first of two burgers and slid it down the bar to him from the grill. Zash stopped the plate with his free hand and looked down at the perfect double cheese burger complete with onions lettuce and the secrete ingredient: Guacamole!

" Old Man your too good to me!" Zash called out as he took a very large bite out of his burger and hummed happily to himself glad to fill his empty stomach. He munched down on his food relatively quickly as Ricky was already starting up his second burger. Ricky turned back around and slide a side of fries on a smaller plate next to Zash. " Oh yeah and some guy came in earlier this morning and left this for you." He reached under the counter and pulled out a manila folder with Zash's name scribbled across it in light sprawled hand writing. Zash glanced it over but left it off to side to finish his meal.
